Notes From Orlando – Kawakami & Hanson Debut for the Braves
Last Summer I said something that is starting to look like it may have been really, really dumb.  When Tommy Hanson threw his no-no, I called him a“decent prospect” that could translate into a “decent three” in the Majors.  I’ll gladly look stupid, however, as Hanson is looking like the real deal now, and Chipper Jones thinks he’ll be the ace in Atlanta, soon.  Time will tell, but the 6'6? flamethrower will likely see his Major League debut this Summer.
Seeing his first action in Spring Training on Thursday, Hanson gave up two runs on two hits and a walk, but he was impressive nonetheless.  He struck out two and his fastball was hitting 99.

Also making his debut this week was one Kenshin Kawakami.  The reports out of Bradenton are extremely positive, and on Friday Kawakami only allowed a single baserunner when he threw his first two frames as a Brave.
