Aroldis Chapman Update Time
It looks like dude is headed to the Minors to start the year.  This is because of his recent back spasms, and not because he did not earn the fifth starters job.  That job will still go to an unproven rookie, and if either Travis Wood or Mike Leake (whichever rookie gets the nod) falters look for Chapman to show up ASAP.  Had he not had the back spasms and missed some work, he would... What to do with Jeff Niemann
Last year Jeff Niemann had a pretty solid rookie campaign, logging an ERA under 4 at 3.94, and a nice 1.35 WHIP to go with it.  While his K:BB was only at 2.12, he did rack up 125 Ks in his 180.2 innings of work.  This Spring, however, dude has been a machine.  He has driven that K:BB up to 7.33, going 22/3 with K/BB so far.  Niemann is set to take another step forward this yea... Franklin Morales? Really? Manny Corpas? Wait?
Yeah, really.  The Colorado Rockies will be without closer Huston Street for at least the first month of the season, and manager Jim Tracy is giving the ball to Franklin Morales in the meantime.  With Manny Corpas also in the bully, Morales will have to perform to keep the gig.

Last year Morales appeared in 40 games for the Rocks, garnering a 4.50 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.  His K:B...

Strasburg Again? Yep, Another Update
As the baseball world watches Stephen Strasburg pitch in Spring Training, and the fans wait to see him on the National's roster, Washington's GM Mike Rizzo is taking his own notes.  Only Rizzo is not going to use said notes, as they seem to be meaningless to him.  Rizzo says he is "sticking to his plan" with Strasburg, and will not rush the phenom to the Bigs.  Rizzo has not made hi...
