Strasburg Again? Yep, Another Update
By: mbohn

As the baseball world watches Stephen Strasburg pitch in Spring Training, and the fans wait to see him on the National's roster, Washington's GM Mike Rizzo is taking his own notes. Only Rizzo is not going to use said notes, as they seem to be meaningless to him.
Rizzo says he is "sticking to his plan" with Strasburg, and will not rush the phenom to the Bigs. Rizzo has not made his plans clear to anyone outside of the Nats' circle, but he has a history of "protecting" his prospects and not forcing them up the ladder before they are ready.
What Rizzo fails to see is that Strasburg is ready. Right now. The Nats will not be contenders this season, however, so it only makes business sense to keep dude in AAA to start the season and protect the front office, not Strasburg, by keeping him from becoming a Super Two. Man up, Rizzo, and tell the truth and let your plan be known by the masses. I'm not saying Rizzo has lied about anything, ever. I'm merely saying I want him to tell me the plan so I can tell you, the loyal non-existent reader of The Fantasy Pitch. I am not going to be giving daily updates on Strasburg going forward. If something actually happens, you will read about it here. Until then, we will turn our eyes in other directions.
