Soriano Throws a Perfecto
By: mbohn

Ok, so it might not have been a perfect game, but
Rafael Soriano was about as perfect as possible last night
against the Los Angeles Angels. Dude came in to try and close the door
in the ninth inning and struck out the side. Sure, that happens quite a
bit, but not in the fashion that Soriano accomplished the feat. The
leader in all of MLB for saves this season with 38, Soriano needed just
nine pitches to record his three strikeouts. This is just the
44th time
anyone has struck out the side on a mere nine pitches in baseball
history. Of course, the most surprising thing about this is the fact
that Soriano is still pitching this late in the season.
(Yes, I know the picture is of Soriano in a Braves uni, but you try finding a picture measuring 500 in width...)
